Summer brings wonderful things to The Northland Arboretum. The Pink Lady Slipper blooms (our state flower), the birds settle in and the volunteers arrive. The Northland Arboretum has a valuable core of friends who arrive every Tuesday morning to maintain our public garden areas. They plant, weed and exchange ideas. If you like to be outdoors and don't mind a little dirt under your fingernails, join the Weekly Weeders this summer. Summer is a great time to stroll through the garden areas including the Monet Pond, The Potlatch Gazebo, and the Secret Garden (inspired, implemented and under construction by The Brainerd Area Girl Scouts and other youth organizations).
